Dr. Phil Fleckman served on the Board of Directors at FIRST (including the Vice President of the Board of Directors from 2006-2008) and on the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board. We are sograteful for his service. knowledge and friendship.

We just received this message today. Dr. Phil Fleckman passed away this morning, Sunday March 19, 2023. He had been suffering with a refractory cancer (advanced mycosis fungoides) for some time.

Phil was a mentor, colleague and friend to many of us and will be dearly missed. We know this will come as a shock to many of you who may not have known Phil was ill. True to his humble personality, Phil kept his diagnosis quiet because it was his strong wish to not bother or inconvenience anyone with his diagnosis.
